Monday Musings: The Month of June

Wow, hard to believe it’s June already.  Even harder to believe is, at this time last year, I had no idea that my life was about to change.  It was on June 10th, 2011 that I finally met Lorne in person for the first time, after knowing each other online for years.  That fateful meeting put into motion all the changes of the past year, like moving to New Hampshire, and the changes still to come, like getting married again.  It’s really amazing what a difference a year makes, and what a difference one person in your life can make.  And I wouldn’t want it any other way!

This June has brought about the end of my Spring term of college classes, and after a great deal of nail-biting, I earned two more A grades to add to my growing list.  Summer term starts June 18th, and I’m going to take advantage of the little bit of time off to get new products made and new listings up in my Etsy shop and on eBay.  I have a goal of posting three new designs here each day, Monday through Friday, for the next two weeks, at least.

June is also LGBT Pride Month, a cause close to my heart as I myself am bisexual and I have a great many friends who are also part of the LGBT community.  I’m going to be celebrating by offering a 20% discount in my Etsy shop when you use the coupon code LGBTPRIDE and I will be posting several new rainbow designs over the course of the month.

Which leads us to the three new products I’ll be posting today, all of which feature rainbows.  First up we have another Rewondered Bag, this one made from scraps of ribbon and lace.

Rainbow Ribbon Bag – Be the first to claim this one with the $20 Recreate perk or have me custom make one for you in your choice of colors and textures.

Next we have another earring design, featuring three beaded segments arranged in a triangle.

And those inspired the next design, a bracelet featuring a series of beaded triangles.  I’m thinking a few more sections and we’d have a choker as well.  This would be an awesome looking set.

Of course, each of these could be made using different colors, so I’ll be offering these as custom made designs as well.

June is also a traditional wedding month, and while mine isn’t until August, I will be working on many wedding things this month.  We had some amazing donations and it looks like about half the items on the Wedding Wish List are already taken care of!  At the end of May we attended a dinner party where our friends who are donating champagne for our toasts decided to do a little tasting.  Of course, we had to do a few practice toasts as well, and I’d like to reiterate mine here:  “To our amazing friends, without whom this wedding wouldn’t happen.”  I am really in awe of their generosity and willingness to go the extra mile for us.  Okay, I better stop now or I’m gonna cry.  😛

One more thing about June… it’s the month my IndieGoGo campaign ends, on the 29th.  I’ve received my first contribution but still have a long way to go to reach my goal of $500, let alone the overall goal of $4995.  Please check out my past posts which will explain more about how to make a contribution and how and when you’ll receive the perks I’m offering.  If you have any others ideas about a custom made product I could make for your contribution, send an email to rewondered@gmail.com with your idea and how much you’re willing to contribute, and we’ll see if we can’t work something out. 😉

And of course, keep checking back here for more new products, and keep sharing the campaign via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, email, smoke signals, skywriting, etc. 😀
