And it’s not easy working in this heat! I’ve been chased out of my studio once again, but I did manage to clear a path to the window, so we’ll see about getting that air conditioner installed soon. For now, I’ll just hug the one in the bedroom and work in there, like I have been.
I think part of today’s heat is being generated by the release of Fox’s Folly, the newest hot fantasy erotica book by my friend Teresa Noelle Roberts. I just finished reading Lion’s Pride, the first in her Duals and Donovans series (Fox’s Folly is #3, and a prequel to #2 Fox’s Den) and I highly recommend it. I actually read it in two days, because the first day I had to put it down to get some sleep, or I would have finished it in one! Don’t forget to leave a comment over on Teresa’s blog by July 18th for your chance to win a copy of Fox’s Folly. It’s also being featured in The Romance Reviews Sizzling Summer Reads contest until July 21st, so go check that out to win other prizes.
I’m also going to blame some of the heat on my own foxy fiancé (see what I did there?)
Today is Lorne’s birthday, and the second one I’ve been able to celebrate with him. We won’t be able to go up to Maine like we did last year, but we’re going to celebrate with our friends this weekend at the Hillsborough Balloon Festival. Hot air balloons and fireworks… see, it just keeps getting hotter!
So let’s cool things down with one of the “cool” colors: green. Starting off, of course, with the Green Basically Beaded Faceted Bead Necklace from the set of seven:
This next one is an update of an old design. Originally I had made it with a silver chain, because I didn’t have any copper chain at the time, but I think it looks much better with copper now.
Copper looks so good with green, and I apparently can’t resist making things in this combination. So here’s another fun design:
In a similar vein, antique gold also looks great with green, and here’s another Basically Beaded design with a completely different look than the first one, using smaller bicone and seed beads:
I am working on this design in lots of different color combinations. It’s just so pretty and elegant, I must have it in all the colors!
But let’s get back to the green, this time going back to the silver for accent. And throwing in a bit of geekery:
So that’s five, but I couldn’t resist throwing in one more, given the title of today’s post. How about a Straitjacket Hoodie featuring this Kermit the Frog fabric?
I also have a few other green necklaces already posted:
- Basically Beaded Green Marbled Large Bead Necklace
- Limited Edition Green and Copper Large Bead Necklace
- Basically Beaded Chunky Green Marble, Black and Gold Necklace
- Basically Beaded Silver and Apple Green Square Faceted Bead Necklace
- Steampunk/Vintage Style Green and Copper Stars Necklace
And these ones are available in green:
- Gamer Girl Geek Chic D6 Dice Necklace (Lime Green)
- Heart Lock and Key ‘Open the Door To Your Heart’ Necklace – Part of the One Hit Wonder Project (Green)
- Painted Wooden Rose Simple Charm Necklace on Silver Chain (Green)
It may not be easy BEING green, but it’s not that difficult FINDING green in my Etsy shop!
And don’t forget, you can get 25% off your order using the coupon code RCIJ25 until July 22nd, when Christmas In July ends!

/ July 17, 2012Wow…thank you for the love for Duals and Donovans. You even put me before Lorne as a heat-generator. Are you sure that’s kosher?
I’d have to argue it in any case. Books are great, but redheaded boys hug back.
